YQM launches partnership with Hope Air to help make medical access far from home more accessible
GREATER MONCTON, NB, February 22, 2024 – The Greater Moncton International Airport Authority (GMIAA) is proud to announce the beginning of a meaningful partnership between YQM and Hope Air, which provides essential travel support for medical care for Canadians who require financial assistance.
Hope Air’s mission is to ensure that distance and cost do not stand in the way of accessing necessary healthcare for Canadians. Through flights, accommodations, meal vouchers, and ground transportation, Hope Air bridges the gap between home and healing for countless individuals and families.
“Our collaboration with Hope Air represents a strong alignment with our shared value of the social wellbeing of our community. Given that several of YQM’s airline partners, such as Air Canada, WestJet, PAL Airlines, and Porter Airlines, are already engaged with Hope Air, we are enthusiastic about fortifying this network of support,” stated Courtney Burns, President and CEO of the GMIAA.
“As the demand for Hope Air’s programs continues to grow in New Brunswick, we are grateful to private sector partners like the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority rising to the occasion with a commitment to Hope Air’s mission. Their support will have a long-lasting impact in helping patients who must travel to vital medical care from home,” says Mark Rubinstein, Chief Executive Officer at Hope Air.
Hope Air’s impact in Canada and New Brunswick is profound:
- In 2023, the organization provided nearly 25,000 travel arrangements across Canada.
- Since its beginning in 1986, Hope Air supported 558 patients through 6,398 travel arrangements in New Brunswick, including 49 patients through 505 travel arrangements in the last two years.
