GREATER MONCTON, NB, June 29, 2023 – The Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) and WestJet successfully celebrated an inaugural flight to Edmonton today.

‘‘We are excited to welcome a second destination with direct non-stop service to Western Canada this summer with WestJet.  YQM now offers non-stop flights to both Edmonton and Calgary.” said Courtney Burns, President and CEO of the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority, Inc.

This Edmonton flight will offer two non-stop flights per week from YQM to Edmonton. In July flights to Calgary will be available five times per week. In August flights will be available six times per week. Our Edmonton flight combined with our direct non-stop flight to Calgary opens opportunities for New Brunswickers to experience Western Canada and for Western Canadians to experience everything that Atlantic Canada has to offer.

“Today marks an important milestone as we enhance connectivity between Eastern and Western Canada.  The direct link between Edmonton and Moncton further connects Alberta to Atlantic Canada, ensuring there are plenty of affordable travel options for business and leisure guests across the country,” said Chris Avery, Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Commercial Development. “With unique tourism and business opportunities in both destinations, WestJet is thrilled to see today’s flight take to the skies.”
