Therapy Dogs Back at YQM
GREATER MONCTON, NB, July 24, 2023 – The Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) is very pleased to announce the return of our pet therapy program. The program was put on hold when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic.
Starting the week of July 24, 2023, passengers will be able to spot our volunteer therapy dog and their handlers as part of our YQM customer experience. This program is in partnership with Therapy Tailblazers. The therapy dogs will be roaming pre-security and post-security during peak travel times during the week. The purpose of the program is to help passengers feel welcomed and relaxed before their flight. Aimed to make our passengers’ journey through the airport more enjoyable, the program can reduce passenger stress and anxiety through interaction with therapy pets to help.
“We know that travelling can be stressful, and a friendly visit with a therapy dog can make all the difference to anxious travelers,” said Courtney Burns, CEO of the Greater Moncton Airport Authority.
The therapy dogs will be here to help passengers feel welcomed and relaxed before their flight.
