Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport welcomes Swoop in 2022
GREATER MONCTON, NB – Together with Swoop, the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) is very pleased to announce the launch of a new non-stop connection between Greater Moncton and Edmonton Alberta for the summer of 2022.
Starting on June 16th and until September 12th 2022, Swoop will be offering two non-stop flights per week to Edmonton Alberta from YQM. These will be provided using 737 aircraft with a seating capacity of 189 passengers.
‘‘Our team is very excited to see Swoop launch this unique and new route from YQM. Although the pandemic had forced a delay to Swoop’s planned June 2020 launch from YQM, we now see this
announcement as one of hopefully many to come for our airport and our region. The low-cost carrier model is new for Canada and we are excited to participate in such an effort which will allow for more friends and families to reunite, and for business people and mobile workers alike to benefit from the convenience of a shorter travel time through a non-stop connection to western Canada’’, said Bernard LeBlanc, YQM CEO.
Bookings for travel on this new Swoop air service from YQM can be made effective immediately via the www.flyswoop.com website and portal.
“We are thrilled to begin service to Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport with the announcement of our new non-stop service to Edmonton,” said Charles Duncan, President of Swoop. “With more than three million travellers having already experienced Swoop’s incredible service and ultra-low fares we are confident this new route will be a huge success.”
YQM is very excited to be able to provide this new low-cost air travel service in line with our efforts to keep enhancing local options to best support the traveling public’s needs to and from our region and airport.
