GREATER MONCTON, NB – Today marks the inaugural flight for PAL Airlines into our region. This morning’s flight flew from St John’s, Newfoundland to Greater Moncton, arriving at 9:30 a.m. The departure time from Greater Moncton to St John’s is at 10:10 a.m. This new service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The schedule is designed to accommodate both business and leisure passengers.

‘‘Our team has worked hard with PAL Airlines to see this route come to fruition, we’re very proud to have the direct link to Newfoundland now from our region. This will help get mobile and remote community workers over easier and faster, families reunite and for business people, the convenience of a shorter travel time will make their day even more productive. It’s also a great opportunity to travel within the Atlantic bubble!’’, said Bernard LeBlanc, YQM CEO.

The service will be of interest to many New Brunswick based companies, distributors or contractors who also operate or need to do business in Newfoundland and Labrador. Similarly, there are significant friends and family connections between the two provinces and leisure travel plans that can take advantage of such a direct New Brunswick to Newfoundland link. This service can therefore benefit the Greater Moncton region as well as New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia travellers.

“Our entire team is excited to introduce our service to Greater Moncton,” said Calvin Ash, President of PAL Airlines. “We’ve appreciated the cooperative spirit the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority has shown in making this new route a reality. We look forward to strengthening the links between New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador and we’re committed to being a big part of the community here in Greater Moncton for the long term.”
The route will be extended to include Ottawa, Ontario once governmental travel restrictions to Atlantic Canada are progressively reduced.
