DIEPPE, NB – The Greater Moncton International Airport Authority (YQM) has enrolled in the past year in a benchmarking tool through Airport Council International (ACI) called Airport Service Quality (ASQ). This tool is the world-renowned and globally established global benchmarking programme measuring passengers’ satisfaction while they are travelling through an airport.

The ASQ programme provides the research tools and management information to better understand passengers’ views and what they want from an airport’s products and services. YQM is part of quarterly surveying in order to regroup the necessary sample in order to take part in the programme with sufficient data collection. A report is then produced with the different categories.

In summary, the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority shines in the following (these are the ASQ results for the fourth quarter (Q4) in 2016 versus other participating Canadian airports):

  • YQM had 16 categories where we ranked #1
  • YQM had 11 categories where we ranked #2
  • YQM had 1 category where we ranked #3
  • Out of a total of 37 questions in the survey we were in the top 3 for 28 (Or 76% percent of the time)

As a result of the surveying and the report generated, this enabled YQM to build a better business case in order to attract a company like Tim Hortons to the airport. Tim Hortons opened its doors last December in the terminal building.

Bernard LeBlanc, President and CEO of YQM states that this benchmarking tool is an excellent way to compare and assess our customer service and give us a good indication of areas we need to concentrate ourselves for overall or specific improvements.
