GREATER MONCTON, NB, February 15, 2024 – The Greater Moncton International Airport Authority (GMIAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Francis LeBlanc as our newest Board member and Federal Government nominee.

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. LeBlanc to the GMIAA Board,” said Luc Elsliger, GMIAA Chair. “We look forward to working closely with Mr. LeBlanc as we continue to see the airport grow and chart an exciting path forward.”

Mr. LeBlanc is from Dieppe and gained extensive experience throughout his career in finance, sales, customer service, and management. He is currently retired and remains involved in various community organizations.

A few facts about Francis LeBlanc:

  • Earned Education and Art degrees from Université de Moncton and started his career as a teacher.
  • Went on to later pursue a fruitful career in finance and sales.
  • Acted as President of the NB Credit Union’s Board of Directors from 2015-2019 and acted as a board member for various organizations in the Greater Moncton area.
  • Served as a councillor and deputy mayor for the City of Dieppe from 1998-2008.

As a financially independent, not-for-profit corporation, the GMIAA has been able to attract some of the region’s strongest leaders to its Board of Directors to oversee the organization’s strategic direction. With operating revenues of over $20 million annually and providing air service to 600,121 passengers in 2023, the GMIAA is a strong economic leader in the Greater Moncton region and New Brunswick.
