GREATER MONCTON, N.B. – The Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) welcomed its inaugural Air Canada Rouge jet service today to Toronto’s Pearson Airport (YYZ). Passengers, YQM partners and management marked the occasion with a celebration at the airport.
“This is excellent news for tourism and business travelers,” said Bernard LeBlanc, President and CEO of YQM. “Not only will travel be faster between Greater Moncton and Toronto, there will also be increased daily capacity between the two airports. This certainly helps to strengthen YQM’s position as the leading airport in New Brunswick and is a recognition of the overall growing demand we are seeing.”
Effective today, Air Canada Rouge will provide direct service three times daily from YQM to YYZ on their A319 jet (136 seats). To meet expected higher demand between June 20 and October 26, the A319 will be replaced with an even larger A320 (162 seats).
